The management of Flemish pop station Play Nostalgie has announced that Robin Vissenakens will become the new program director for Play Nostalgie and Nostalgie Plus, starting July 2.

Vissenakens transitions from an eight-year tenure as channel manager for competitor Joe and its thematic channels. He also initiated the DAB+-only channel Willy and previously served as network coordinator for the Belgian public station MNM.

Vissenakens takes over from station manager Jo Nachtergaele, who decided to focus on creative and cross-media projects within the Play Nostalgie organization.

“The past year was a significant leap forward for both Play Nostalgie and Nostalgie Plus,” commented Tom Klerkx, CEO of Radio Nostalgie. “We have grown both as a brand and as an organization. I’m happy to announce Robin’s appointment with our team. Robin brings expertise and passion – he’s the perfect choice to guide our radio brands into the future.”

Vissenakens said, “Play Nostalgie and Nostalgie Plus are well known for their broad and diverse musical content. I want to continue and strengthen this tradition, looking ahead with an ear for what the audience wants.”
