United Kingdom-based Radioplayer has partnered with AI-powered radio services provider Super Hi-Fi. The collaboration aims to enhance radio experiences in connected cars and devices using Super Hi-Fi’s HLS+ streaming technology.
Radioplayer works with car companies and radio manufacturers to maintain radio’s central role in the dashboard by providing reliable, official metadata feeds for connected cars, developing hybrid ‘smart radio’ designs with car companies, and app and voice integrations like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Under this partnership, car companies and OEMs with Radioplayer installed will be able to offer interactive, personalized radio using Super Hi-Fi’s HLS+. “Our mission at Radioplayer is to preserve radio’s accessibility and prominence while driving innovation for broadcasters and connected device and vehicle makers,” said Yann Legarson, CEO of Radioplayer. “Super Hi-Fi’s HLS+ delivers on both fronts with its ability to generate premium, interactive radio, enhancing the listening experience for our partners and their audiences. Super Hi-Fi’s HLS+ represents the first streaming technology explicitly designed to help radio companies integrate broadcast and digital capabilities. It allows for live, linear radio combined with interactivity and deep personalization within the same audio stream.
