Vortex brings latest CallMe codec to MPTS

Vortex Communications, CallMe-RC

Vortex Communications is bringing the latest CallMe codec products to Media Production & Technology Show at the Olympia Events’ Grand Hall, London, May 15–16.

Highlighted will be the most recent upgrades and additions to the CallMe-RC (shown). CallMe-RC is the CallMe software codec installed into a Rode RodeCaster Pro II or Duo mixer giving it an onboard IP codec making it into “a cost-effective one-box solution for outside broadcast, podcasting and web streaming with cabled, Wi-Fi and mobile internet connectivity. It has the same straightforward operation of the CallMe-T hardware codec, providing 20 kHz low-delay Opus audio and compatibility with most manufacturers’ codecs that support the same standards.”

After the MPTS, the Vortex team will be at the Podcast Show in Islington at the Business Design Centre, May 22–23. Vortex has fond memories of a previous Podcast Show.

“It was as a result of customer feedback at the first Podcast Show that Vortex developed CallMe diRECt-X which lets a host connect to up to five guests without anyone needing any special hardware or software download. It connects browser-to-browser for live Opus audio streaming which is end-to-end encrypted, as well as providing lossless in-browser recordings for the host and each guest, which are uploaded to the Host in the background.”
